Tension Control Unit
The Roll Tension
Control Unit is
used to maintain a constant unwinding and
rewinding tension on the web
as the Roll diameter increases or decreases. The unit controls the air
pressure to a pneumatic brake or pneumatic slip clutch by the means of
a non-contact ultra sonic scanner which continuously monitors the
diameter of the roll, and adjusts the braking force, to exactly match
the current
roll diameter. The amount of braking force is controlled by
the control module
converts the electric signal into an analogue
pressure signal which controls the
pneumatic brake or pneumatic slip
clutch.
